A Few Poems from a Lifetme of Writing

 

I joined a primary school, with just three weeks to go before leaving forever for senior school.  The class were studying World War I.  What to do with me?  We all listened to the lesson and then we were asked to write a poem.  I wrote, Soldier Soldier Do You Dare.  Next lesson, I was made the first Poet of the Week they had ever had.  The poem was written out onto a giant white card and put into the main hall in readiness for some VIP visitors to the school that week.  I was not allowed to write it because my handwriting was apparently messy.  Quite simply, I never stopped.  There are poems everywhere that have described and carried me through each decade of my life.   Here is a small selection.  Some have images with the poem
